The north of the island: a long pine-backed beach inside a national park, low-rise buildings and the airport a few minutes away.

Nai Yang beach lies inside Sirinat National Park. That is where the pines come from, and why nothing tall gets built here: the district stays low-rise and the seafront never turned into a strip of bars.

The airport is the district’s nearest neighbour, and that is its defining feature. If you fly often, Nai Yang saves you the drive across the island; everyone else should stand outside a particular building and listen to a landing first.

Life here is quieter than in Bang Tao: a few cafés by the beach, small shops, and a drive to Thalang or Bang Tao for a full supermarket and a choice of restaurants.

Who it suits

  • Frequent flyers — nowhere on the island is closer to the airport.
  • Anyone who wants a quiet beach with shade rather than a bar-lined promenade.
  • Long lets — the flats we handle here are rented by the month.

What to keep in mind

  • You will hear aircraft. How much depends on the building, and it is worth checking on the spot.
  • There is less around than on the west coast: a car or a bike is close to essential.
